2015 Christmas Message from Ian

Merry Christmas! How quickly it seems that the year rolls by and again Christmas is almost here.  It’s always my pleasure, and the pleasure of all at IDM to wish you a very Happy and Blessed Christmas.

As I thought about what to write this year I took a look at my message from last year and it’s still so appropriate for today.  I look at the chaos in the world, the brutality, the heartache, the recent events of terrorism both internationally and domestically and it makes me all the more thankful for the things that really matter – family, friends, those that love and care for us, the basics of life and freedoms that we have.  Most importantly the love of Christ and security in Him as we celebrate Christmas and its real meaning.

The US and the western world has done a great job at overly commercializing Christmas.  It’s removed the real meaning – Christ’s birth and sacrifice for us.  People have lost focus and become so engaged with gifts, parties, sales, become frustrated with the hustle and bustle of getting everything done and don’t leave time and focus on the things that matter most; love, family, Christ and how blessed the vast majority of us are.  Let’s each of us pause…reflect and look at what we are doing and if our focus is where it should be!

I apologize if I repeat myself too much, but I wish that Christmas (and life in many respects) could be a little more simple, less cluttered, and we could all be more appreciative of the important things.  I speak to myself here as well.

Let’s take the opportunity to reach out to others, to make a difference in their lives and show the love of Christ, or just your own love to others and those that are in need.
